The Importance of Exercise

Exercise is an essential part of good health. By exercising, we can get many benefits.
First, exercise makes us strong by increasing the size and strength of our muscles. Without it, muscles waste away.
Moreover, it strengthens our heart so that it pumps blood more efficiently. This means it can do more work with less effort. Just running for a bus can strain (memaksa/memompa) an unfit person’s heart.
It also makes us breathe deeper and take in more oxygen. The Food we eat must be combined with oxygen inside our bodies before it can give us energy.
It improves our circulation by making our blood vessels (pembuluh) more elastic and opening up new channels. This means that food and oxygen, which are carried in our blood, get around our bodies more efficient.
It improves our speed of reaction and coordination by making our brains and nervous systems work more efficiently. It also helps us to move more graceful.
It helps us relax and overcome stress. We feel generally healthier and happier.
These are the reasons why we should exercise
